My First Time

Ok, my first little baby step into blog land. I know I'm behind the times with this.  Here are  my pics for the Papertrey Ink's Make It Monday Challenger #9: Embossing.  I decided to participate in this challenge because, first off, I am an embossing fool. I love the way it can enhance any project. I used many different products on this card, so if there are any questions about supplies or tools used, I will answer the best I can, though I have picked up so many little things for "someday" that I don't know that I will be very helpful. Some things I have even picked up at yard sales. The important thing for this challenge, however, is that the stamp for the background is from PTI Beyond Basic Borders, and the sentiment is from PTI Big Birthday Wishes.  I just used Versa-Mark ink on the vine image from background basics borders and clear embossing powder.  Also applied Versa-Mark to the entire cut-work flower (Cricut - storybook cartridge) and then white embossing powder.  The shiny white embossing makes me think of little girls white patent shoes at Easter.  Before they get all the little black scuff marks, of course. :) The gems are just from a package bought in the craft-jewelry section at Wal-Mart. Not self-adhesive by the way, kind of a headache.  The ribbons is just from my stash. This card is for my aunt's birthday, and I made a couple of book marks and book plates to go with it, using PTI All Booked Up set which I cannot use enough. It was my first PTI set and I just love it.  I haven't done a very good job about listing supplies used, so if there are any questions, let me know and I'll do my best to answer.  Also, I know my pics aren't the best quality, I will try to do better next time.  There are a few things I'm not thrilled with on this card, like how I attached the ribbon,  and the placement of the vines on the background, but I'm still new to card-making and would take any comments or constructive criticism with great appreciation!! Thanks for looking!
